Part of Mar Albà's Team attended the second Microproteins' meeting in Denmark

The 31^st of May a part of Mar Albà's Team of the Evolutionary Genomics Group (Jose Carlos Montañés, Chris Papadopoulos, Marta Espinosa and Mar Albà) took a plane to Copenhagen to attend the second Microproteins' meeting, taking place in Helsingor, Denmark from the 31^st of May to the 2^nd of June. Mar, director of the GRIB  was one of the organizers of the event. The meeting was about the state of the art of microproteins, an emerging field in biology, and which is their role in evolution and in the biomedical context.

At the second Microproteins' meeting, José Carlos gave a talk presenting the recently published paper of the team on the evolution of putative de novo genes. Likewise Marta Espinosa and Christos Papadopoulos presented a poster on their respective subjects. Espinosa was selected as one of the 10 best posters and won a prize worth 250 euros.
