GRIB participates in the 4th edition of Live Research

This is the first time that the GRIB (IMIM/UPF) participates in Live Research, a fair that aims to improve the Barcelona’s society scientific culture showing to the general public the research that is being done nowadays in the city.

Live Research assembles some researchers from Barcelona that show their scientific methods. This fair has become a meeting point between the Barcelona R+D centers and the general public. In each stand, the researchers explain a project in which they are working on, promoting the interaction with the visitors and using a non-technical language that can be understood by the general public.

GRIB’S stand tries to give some answers to the following questions: "How can the Informatic Technology (IT) contribute to the improvement of the research related to our Health?"; "How can the IT aid to advance towards a personalised medicine?"; "Can the IT improve the efficiency of the process to discover new drugs, reducing the time and costs involved in it?"; and finally, "Can the IT facilitate the comunication between the research groups in order to achieve better results in less time?"

Organized by the Barcelona Scientific Park (PCB), Live Research will take place in the Caixa Catalunya Cultural Center in La Pedrera Building (Pg. de Gràcia, 92, Barcelona) from 9th to 10th of May 2006. The entrance is free for everybody.
