GRIB participates in EXPOQUIMIA 2005

GRIB has participated in EXPOQUIMIA 2005, the International Chemical Industry Exhibition that has taken place in Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via M2 from 14th to 18th November, through an information point in the stand of FiTec and with an oral presentation entitled "Navegating through chemical libraries" by Dr. Jordi Mestres, head of the Research Group on Chemogenomics of the GRIB.

In their daily work, chemists often face the need of having to analyse the structural characteristic of the molecules that were in their own chemical libraries or in those external. That is the reason why nowadays, there is a need for a tool that allows them to perform all these tasks readily and efficiently. The GRIB’s Research Group on Chemogenomics has developed a tool that offers the possibility to navigate through the structural content of chemical libraries and has presented it in the stand of FiTec in EXPOQUIMIA.

On the other hand, GRIB has also participated in the International Chemical Industry Exhibition of Barcelona with a point of information in the stand of FiTec, an exhibition area of 300m2 that has become a meeting point between scientists and creators of new technologies of the chemical industry sector. The aim of FiTec is to facilitate business making and the conclusion of co-operating agreements between the parties involved.

With over 41 represented countries and 58.000 trade visitors, EXPOQUIMIA is a major showcase for new products in the world of chemistry.
