This new tool framework, developed by the Regulatory Genomics Group of GRIB (IMIM-UPF), is used for the analysis of various data types following from experiments of RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) as well as Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP-Seq) or Cross-linking immunoprecipitation (CLIP-Seq). Pyicos is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pyicos/
Due to its increasing throughput and decreasing cost, deep-sequencing (DS) has revolutionized the study of gene regulation. It is now used for a variety of functional analyses in the genome and transcriptome. Accordingly, the analysis of the sequenced reads that are successfully mapped to a reference has become an active field of research. There is an increasing need for generic tools that are applicable to the various data types and that could facilitate the integrative analyses of the genome.
